Medication follow-up
Short visits, a written policy, a pace you set
For adults who have been evaluated, here or elsewhere, and take or are starting medication.
Each visit checks how the medicine is working and how you are doing, then adjusts or renews it under the written prescribing policy. Visits are in Mesa or by video.

What to expect
What it is like, in six points
What the visit is like
It lasts 20 minutes, in Mesa or by video. We look at how the medicine is working, side effects and how your days are going.
The method
Dr. Madrigal explains each change and why. A medicine that does not suit you changes or stops.
What it is not
It is not a refill line, not therapy and not an emergency service. Requests for more, or sooner, are reviewed at a visit.
Controlled medication follows the written policy: one prescriber, one pharmacy, the state record checked, no refills.
Length and frequency
Dr. Madrigal sets the pace with you. We do not promise a number of visits.
You pay for each visit yourself, at the end. The fees page explains how the fee is set.
Three questions about this visit
Do you prescribe controlled medication by video?
It depends on the federal and Arizona rules in force on the day of the visit. We do not start a controlled medication at the visit that begins the evaluation, and we tell you before the evaluation whether follow-ups can be by video or must be in the office.
Will I need labs?
Sometimes. Some ADHD medicines call for a blood pressure and pulse check, and occasionally a blood test. Your own primary care doctor can usually do these, and we tell you which, if any, apply to you.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment, so the time can go to someone else. The fee for a late change is stated in the estimate we send before your evaluation.

The fees and the written estimate are explained on the fees page.
